** Our Class at the Ripley Elementary School which was previously scheduled for Tuesday, February 23 2010, has been relocated to the Cafeteria at Ripley High School. We will have class unless Jackson County Schools are closed that day.

Group Lessons at the University of Charleston
Monday Night Beginners' Group Lessons. Our Monday night group dance lessons for beginning ballroom dancing students will resume at the University of Charleston on Monday, January 18, 2010. Join us from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. for Beginners lessons in waltz and nightclub two step on that date. Lessons are followed by a free 15 minute practice session from 8:00-8:15 p.m. We'll be teaching 4 weeks of waltz on January 18, 25, February 1, February 8, followed by 4 weeks of nightclub two step on February 22, March 1, and March 8, and March 15, 2010 (Please note that we will not have class on Monday, February 15.) For general community members, lessons are $10/person, or you may choose to buy a package of 4 lessons for $35 or a package of 8 lessons for $70. Lessons are free for University of Charleston students, staff, and faculty. Following Nightclub Two Step lessons, we will have lessons in the spring of 2010 on the following Mondays: March 29, April 5, April 12, April 19, April 26, and May 3. We will teach Polka on March 29, April 5, and April 12. We will teach Samba on April 19, April 26, and May 3. Lessons are held in the 3rd floor ballroom of the Geary Student Union at the University of Charleston. No experience is required for these lessons and we recommend that you wear shoes with either a suede or leather sole to the lessons. You do not need to bring a partner with you to lessons, but it would be helpful to bring one if you have one. NOTE: PLEASE ARRIVE 15 MINUTES BEFORE CLASS IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN SO THAT YOU MAY PROPERLY REGISTER FOR CLASS.
Beginner's Ballroom Dancing Classes in Ripley, WV
Please note that our February 23, 2010 Cha Cha dance class has been moved to the Ripley High School Cafeteria. See you there at 7:30 p.m.
Starting on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, we will teach ballroom and Latin dance classes for beginning dance students at Ripley High School. (Please note that we will be moving from the Elementary School to the High School.) Ripley High School is located at 2 School Street in Ripley, West Virginia. Please click here for directions. No prior ballroom dance experience is needed to take these lessons and there is no dress code for class, though we do recommend that you wear shoes with either a suede or leather sole to them. Also, no partner is required, though it would be helpful if you bring one. Lessons will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. We will teach swing dancing on March 2, 9, 16, and 30 and will teach rumba dancing on April 6, 13, 20, and 27. (Please note that there will be no class on Tuesday, March 23, 2010). Lessons will be $10/person/class, $35 for a 4 lesson package, or $70 for a 8 lesson package. Private Lessons:
Private lessons are taught in the Kanawha City section of Charleston. Private Lessons are for 1 or 2 people and are $45/hour. If two couples wish to take private lessons during the same hour, the cost would be $90/hour. Contact us today at 304-984-1939 or at info@wvdance.net to learn how you can take private lessons from us. Please Note our new policy on Cancellation of Private Lessons: (Policy effective June 18, 2009). If you schedule a private lesson with us and cancel your lesson within 24 hours of your lesson, or you do not show up for your lesson (for whatever reason), you will owe 50% of the cost of your lesson. For example, if the cost of your scheduled private lesson was $50, you will owe $25. (Note that this policy does not apply to group lessons. Please note that if you prepay for a group lesson and miss the group lesson, you forfeit the entire amount of the group lesson that you miss. For example, if you pay for a package of 6 weeks of lessons, and you miss one of the weeks of lessons, you forfeit the amount of the one lesson you missed (but you do not forfeit the amount of the other lessons and you can still come to the remaining lessons.)
Small Group Lessons
If 4 or more people wish to take lessons from us to learn how to dance for a wedding, special event, or just wish to learn how to dance in general outside of the scheduled group lessons that we offer, we can work with you to provide you with small group lessons. Contact us for more information about pricing and locations available for small group lessons.
Gift Certificates
Our gift certificates make a good stocking stuffer or a good gift for other special occasions throughout the year. If you're interested in giving our dance lessons as a gift to your parents, children, brothers, sisters, other relatives, or your friends, please send payment to: "WV Dance, 5818 Sissonville Drive, Charleston, WV, 25312" and indicate the address to which the gift certificates should be returned along with the names of the people who will be receiving the gift certificates. We accept both cash and checks but do not accept credit cards.
